Welcome to Asheville: Part 2 – Chimney Rock

Asheville is located in the mountains, so of course when we visited, we had to go hiking! The first day we went to Chimney Rock. I’ve been there before, but things have changed a little, and it’s still an amazing view from the top.

Before when we went to Chimney Rock, we were able to drive to the top and park. This time, we had to park in a lot about halfway up, and a bus shuttled people to the top. We rode the bus to the top, and as we got up there, we found out the reason for this change. It looked like there was a landslide on the mountain, taking out some of the parking and narrowing the roads. It was safer to just have a few buses traveling the road, instead of a bunch of cars and visitors. Continue reading
