Spring in February

The weather has been so nice recently here, and by that I mean most of February was in the high 60s and 70s. Which was great. All the plants started to think spring was already here, and if you drive through Atlanta you can see everything in bloom. It’s hard to tell it’s still technically winter. Though this week it supposed to be cold, and there may be a frost, I’m counting it as spring, and I’ve already gotten out and about.

With warm weather and more sunshine, it’s easier to get outside of the house to exercise. Continue reading


Up and Around Stone Mountain

If you’re from Georgia, at least from the Atlanta area, you’ve probably heard of Stone Mountain. We recently had relatives come visit us and when they asked what Stone Mountain was, my description was, a mountain made of stone? Of course, it’s more than that. The main attraction is the mountain, but there’s been a whole park built around it, where you can do fun family activities. During the winter, Stone Mountain becomes Snow Mountain. Continue reading

Mount Monadnock

When my parents came to visit me, I searched the internet for different things to do in the area. One of the things that seemed a shame not to do was visit and climb Mount Monadnock. I have no idea when I will be back to New Hampshire, and I found out that Mount Monadnock is actually the second most climbed mountain in the world. So I agreed with my parents that we would go climb it.

None of us are hikers. When I think of climbing mountains, I think of Stone Mountain. Continue reading
